Mr. Thornhill is the founder and senior partner of Thornhill Law Firm, A PLC, based in Slidell, Louisiana. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University in 1974 and 1977 respectively, he then studied toward a Masters Degree in petroleum engineering at Tulane University from 1980-1983. Mr. Thornhill has served the bar in the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates and as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives District 76 from 1996 to 2000. In the Legislature, Mr. Thornhill served on the House Appropriations, Insurance and Retirement Committees, as well as the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget. Mr. Thornhill retired from the Legislature to become the President of Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association.

Tom Thornhill has been retained to represent LIGTT Regional Center, LLC in The Louisiana International Gulf Transfer Terminal (LIGTT) project. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has granted approval for the creation of the Louisiana International Gulf Transfer Terminal (LIGTT) Regional Center. This approval will allow for the development of the largest transshipment facility in the United States and improve the current strained shipping infrastructure and streamline international trade flow as the Panama Canal expands. In addition, this approval allows the LIGTT Regional Center to operate as an EB-5 immigrant investor capital regional center. Mr. Thornhill remains active in professional associations, including having served as the President of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association (now Louisiana Association of Justice), committees of the Louisiana State Bar Association; and active membership in the Federal and American Bar Associations. Mr. Thornhill is a regular lecturer for the Louisiana Association of Justice on changes in the law, procedure and professional topics.
